Import a CSV or Excel spreadsheet to Avery® labels
Choose a CSV, TSV, or Excel file straight from Excel or Google Sheets, map its columns to Name, Address, City, State, and ZIP, and download a print-ready PDF. Works with every one of the 22 Avery® sheet sizes below — no CONCAT formula required.
If your printer is slightly off, nudge the whole grid. Saved per sheet.
Print at 100% scale — make sure "Fit to page" is turned off, or the positions won't line up.
Exporting a clean CSV from Excel
- Put column headers (Name, Address, City, State, ZIP, etc.) in row 1.
- File → Save As (or Save a Copy) → choose CSV (Comma delimited).
- Open the saved .csv file with the file control above.
Exporting from Google Sheets
- Put column headers in row 1 of your sheet.
- File → Download → Comma-separated values (.csv).
- Open the downloaded file with the file control above.
Why 100% scale matters when you print
Every Avery® sheet size on this site is generated so its labels land exactly inside the die-cut positions on the physical sheet — but only if the PDF prints at true size. When your print dialog has "Fit to page" or "Scale to fit" turned on, most printers shrink the page slightly to guarantee margins, which is enough to throw every label off by a fraction of an inch. Always set the print scale to 100% (sometimes labeled "Actual size") before printing, and use the "Print test grid" button in the generator above on plain paper first to confirm alignment before committing a real sheet of labels.
Import CSV/Excel questions
What file types can I import?+
CSV, TSV, and Excel files (.xlsx and .xls). Export any spreadsheet to one of these formats and it will work here.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded anywhere?+
No. The file is read directly in your browser using JavaScript's file APIs. Nothing in the file you open is ever sent to a server — reading, mapping, and generating your labels all happen locally.
How does column mapping work?+
After you choose a file, the columns are listed in dropdowns for Name, Address 1, Address 2, City, State, and ZIP. Matching columns are pre-selected automatically based on their header text — you can change any of them. Only Address 1 is required.
What if my spreadsheet has no header row?+
Uncheck "First row is column headers" and the first row will be treated as data instead of being skipped. Columns are then labeled "Column 1", "Column 2", and so on for mapping.
My city, state, and ZIP are already combined in one column — what do I do?+
Map that single column to "City" and leave State and ZIP unmapped. Its value is used exactly as written on the label.
Can I print something other than mailing addresses, like asset tags or jar labels?+
Yes — switch to "Single column" mode and pick the one column you want printed. Each row becomes one label with no address formatting applied.
What happens with duplicate rows?+
Rows that compose to an identical label are removed automatically before generating, and the count of unique labels and duplicates removed is shown. You can turn this off if you want one label per row regardless.
What if I have more rows than fit on one sheet?+
Labels automatically continue onto as many additional sheets as needed — the download button always produces one PDF with every label across however many pages are required.
