How to print on Avery® 5395 sheets
- Type or paste your text into the generator above. Use one line per label for a list of names or addresses, or the same text on every label for return addresses and product stickers.
- Check the live preview. Text is kept at least 0.063" (1.6mm) inside each label edge, and auto-size shrinks long lines so they fit the 3⅜" × 2⅓" label.
- Download the PDF and open it in any PDF viewer. Print at 100% / Actual size with "Fit to page" turned off, because any scaling shifts every label out of position.
- Print one test page on plain paper, lay it over a 5395 sheet, and hold both up to a light. If the text sits inside the die-cut outlines, load the label sheets and print the full run.
- Partly used sheet? Set "Start at label" to the first empty position (1 to 8, counted left to right, top to bottom) so the used labels are skipped.
Using Avery 5395 name badge labels
Avery 5395 name badges are built for full-day wear, not just a quick handshake. The peel-away adhesive backing is designed to stick to clothing without curling, lifting, or falling off over the course of a conference or trade show, then come off cleanly at the end of the day without leaving residue on most fabrics.
That adhesive isn't universal, though — avoid sticking these directly onto corduroy, silk, suede, velvet, leather, or vinyl, where it can pull at delicate fibers or fail to release cleanly. A lanyard, or a plain cotton/poly blazer lapel, is the safer bet for those fabrics.
Each sheet holds 8 badges arranged 2 across and 4 down, so a 50-person event needs 7 sheets and a 200-person conference needs 25 — print a few extra to cover walk-in registrations and reprints for anyone whose name gets misspelled. Because badges get read from a few feet away rather than up close, keep the primary line — usually just a first name — large, and drop title or company onto a smaller second line rather than trying to fit everything at one size. Label Merge's auto-size text mode will shrink long names to fit automatically, but a badge with one big word reads better across a room than three lines of equal-sized text.
5395 shares its exact 3-3/8" × 2-1/3" geometry with 8395, 5895, and 15395, so this generator lines up correctly for any of those part numbers too.
Avery 5395 questions
Will Avery 5395 name badges stay on all day at a conference?+
Yes — they're built for it. The adhesive is designed to hold through a full day of movement and peel off cleanly afterward, without the curling or lifting you'd get from a standard printer label stuck to fabric.
Can I stick a 5395 badge on silk or leather?+
Avoid it. The adhesive isn't recommended for corduroy, silk, suede, velvet, leather, or vinyl — it can pull at delicate fibers or fail to release cleanly. A lanyard is the safer option for those fabrics.
How many name badges are on one 5395 sheet?+
8, arranged 2 across and 4 down. A 100-person event needs 13 sheets.
Is 5395 the same as 8395?+
Yes — 8395, 5895, and 15395 all share the identical 3-3/8" × 2-1/3" geometry, so this generator lines up correctly for any of them.
What are the page margins for Avery® 5395 labels?+
On a US Letter page, the first 5395 label starts 0.583" (14.8mm) from the top edge and 0.688" (17.5mm) from the left edge. The last row ends 0.583" (14.8mm) above the bottom edge, and the last column ends 0.688" (17.5mm) from the right edge.
Why is my Avery® 5395 printout misaligned?+
Almost always because the PDF was scaled. Print at 100% / "Actual size" with "Fit to page" or "Shrink oversized pages" turned off. Test on a plain sheet first, hold it against a 5395 sheet up to a light, and check that each text block sits inside a label with about 0.063" (1.6mm) of clearance.
Can I make an Avery® 5395 template in Microsoft Word instead?+
Yes — in Word's Label Options, choose New Label and enter a label width of 3.375" (85.7mm), height of 2.333" (59.3mm), top margin of 0.583" (14.8mm), side margin of 0.688" (17.5mm), horizontal pitch of 3.75" (95.3mm), vertical pitch of 2.5" (63.5mm), 2 across and 4 down. Or skip the setup and use the generator above, which already uses these numbers.
